David Dawson, DVM
Dr. Dawson graduated from University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. While in school, Dr. Dawson served as National President of the Student Veterinary Association and received a Fellowship from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation for work with animals in war-torn Bosnia-Herzgovina.
Dr. Dawson has strong interests in dermatology, oncology/chemotherapy, soft-tissue surgery, non-surgical orthopedics and rehabilitation.
In June, 2002, Dr. Dawson purchased San Roque Pet Hospital. Under his direction and vision, the hospital has been revitalized to offer high quality medicine and exceptional, compassionate care.
Dr. Dawson lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Christine, daughter Kendall, son Dane, and Freddie the dog. He enjoys surfing, golfing, rugby, soccer, flying, traveling and spending time with his family.
Ann O'Brien Welton, DVM
Dr. O'Brien Welton grew up in Southern California, moving to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB in 1988. From that point on, she knew this was where she wanted to live. She attended Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2000.
Dr. O'Brien Welton has always had an interest in non-traditional species, and sought extra training in bird, reptile and even fish medicine while at school. After graduation, she did an internship at California Animal Hospital in West Los Angeles, getting intensive training in cardiology, internal medicine and ultrasonography. In 2001 she returned to the Santa Barbara area where she has been a full time practicing veterinarian seeing dogs, cats and small exotic companion animals.
Dr. O'Brien Welton lives in Santa Barbara with her husband Steve, Darma, a Brussels Griffon, Zorro, a rascally rabbit, and Sam, her 18 year old cockatiel. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, participating in a monthly book club with 8 close friends. She also enjoys hiking and biking in the Santa Barbara area, and traveling. She is excited to be part of the San Roque Pet Hospital team, and looks forward to meeting you and all your furry, feathered and scaly friends.
